comment Reset atq list to zero?
@terdon Naw, it's just idle curiosity. I was curious that none of the files in FILES section of man at seemed to have a reference to this identifier, so I wondered where the number could possibly come from?

comment Reset atq list to zero?
For some reason I can't restart my atd service, I get a start: Rejected send message... error. Do you think that restarting the service would reset that number?

comment NTP is synced properly but still doesn't update the time?
Haha, good to know. Having not seen valid results on that screen before, it would have been nice if ntp was a bit more explicit in saying that something was wrong.

comment Find where a bash command is defined or sourced from?
@slm I was actually positive that there was already such a question on the site, but my searches didn't yield such a question - most likely because of my wording. I agree with meta though, that if my search doesn't result in an answer to my question that the question can still be asked, and that these questions improve the site. I also agree that this is a duplicate and should be closed - just not deleted.

comment zcat a file line by line?
The thing is, my program is the thing that is doing the zcat via a system call. So it doesn't actually use the | character. But I do wonder if this is still applicable to the popen syscall mentioned in the comments by n.m.

comment zcat a file line by line?
@n.m. I understand how pipes work in Linux, and that they have a capability similar to what I am looking for here in that if I zcat | someCommand, that zcat will only provide what someCommand is looking for. Is there a someCommand you are aware of that would actually answer my question?

Add another useful two letter command to the list. Why isn't this a community wiki?
