comment How do you get NOPASSWD sudo option to work in Fedora 15?
I did not know if that was actually the issue and I never used NOPASSWD before... so I just posted it as a comment. At the end, what's important is that you solved the problem :)

comment Allow users to run only specific binaries with root permissions/privileges
Am I missing something? Why can't you just edit /etc/sudoers and add username ALL=/sbin/iptables /sbin/whatever?

Essentially, you create a new group just for the user and give execution permission for iptables to that group.

comment How to calculate percentages in LibreOffice Calc?
Also, you can just fix the column using $A2 or just fix the row with A$2. This is useful when copying between different columns/rows (depending how your data is laid out)

Thanks for your answer but that is not what I am asking. I know that there is an "Open with" pane, what is missing is the "custom command" edit box. I will rephrase my question accordingly

@Tim: pdfinfo file.pdf tells you if a PDF is optimized. However, I am not sure whether that means compressed or not.

comment How to transfer Windows application to Ubuntu on Virtualbox?
@GTyler: even if you had it the Windows licence does not allow you to use Matlab on Linux. A possible alternative is to use SciLab, which is free and opensource and which can execute Matlab scripts (depending on the script).
