What does Arch Linux offer? @sr_ thanks for wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/… I have read that already, but still in practice I want to see if it's just me or other people also find it to much trouble to choose all the packages and install everything by hand? I mean I know that I need to change a few things from a standard ubuntu distro but when I tried Arch I need to make all sorts of decisions that I didn't cared about that much. |

Using rsync + cron to sync a machine behind a firewall with my dropbox I got it and it works perfectly, so basically you are suggesting that i replace rsync with unison? Which is a great suggestion. Still I need to mount my NFS mounts and then use unison to sync them, correct? |

Using rsync + cron to sync a machine behind a firewall with my dropbox thanks, It looks like Unison is not being actively developed, do you use it or have you used it before? |

Using rsync + cron to sync a machine behind a firewall with my dropbox I can SSH into B and can run programs on it, but don't have root access to it, or cannot install anything new on it, it's a rather standard Redhat (or fedora, or centos?!) box. |

Is there a way to make tail -F beep? @amphetamachine thanks, while I am a bash user myself, it would be nice if you or others can add versions that would work on other shells as well. |
