comment Any (text based) plotting tools in unix toolbox?
By "generic" I mean, multipurpose tools, things like awk and sed which are not "specific", not designed for a specific use case. Sorry if it's confusing. basically I want to make very simple bar plots in the terminal. That's all.

thanks, but I don't want to use any GUI, not for writing the code nor for showing the plots, I want to do it entirely in the terminal. Besides, I'd rather be able to run it without any need to sudo (for installation of anything).

since these cross mounts are not necessary for boot up, what about a corn job that periodically checks to see if mounts are properly mounted and if not remounts them. Instead of mounting them at boot up?

thanks, for my use, it has too problems, 1- it needs for the affected "window" to be sent to background (which I don't want) 2- My screen, does not ring the bell it just displays a line in the message line.

It is really ugly! But still it works fine, on every descent OS. How did you get to learn this?!
