comment Efficient data extraction from multiple files to a single CSV file
Amazing. Thanks! I tried the first solution (with GNU versions) but I ended up with the same file1.xml file2.xml\nfile3.xml file4.xml ... pattern as before.

comment In zsh how can I list all the environment variables?
echo $ZSH_VERSION returns 5.0.5, but when I do env | grep ZSH_VERSION I don't see any matches. Is ZSH_VERSION not an environment variable? What am I missing?

Thanks @AndyLester That makes sense. I wonder if saving the list under tmp or similar could help. That may not work for every environment, but I guess it could prevent that problem.

comment Is there a robust command line tool for processing csv files?
Even better, use Pandas. It is explicitly designed to work with tabular data.
