My thoughts
Me on launchpad PPA
Evidently one of my mini-apps was useful enough to make it on to Webupd8
Do you use/like that app? Maybe you want to help fund a cryptogram game

comment Does a bad sector indicate a failing disk?
Not so. Bad sectors just indicate grossly high traffic to a sector. In MOST cases, it does indicate a failing disk. You can tune your seek speed to mark slower responses as bad though... It's too complex to say always though.

comment What's the problem with this script to change wallpaper?
Just a note, it's easier to use feh than muck about in gsettings.

comment multicast is enabled on ubuntu?
it might be worth noting that just because it's enabled, doesn't mean it's subscribed to any addresses.

Not lame, opencv. I have it installed on 12.04 via apt-get install python-opencv and it works fine.

It sort of is (as far as apps can tell), but it's not as far as ultimate resolution is concerned.

The 9382 is the same one that is cited in the answer, so the answer is "should work, but you have to try it unless you find someone that owns one"

comment Install the same 64-bit packages as a 32-bit Xubuntu installation
:i386 "should" mean that it's not the native architecture. So your VM would actually have been x64 and the question is a moot point.

comment Ubuntu: If anyone can get a root prompt without password, isn't that compromising the gnome keyring?
Encrypting your home folder with encfs doesn't do anything for adding kernel modules and returning your computer is where I was going with it.

Don't tag it as Ubuntu if your question relates to changing the root password for "security". Short of FDE and physical tokens for boot, no. Nothing you're talking about makes a difference for linux or windows. This question sounds like trolling.

comment beagleboard com and HDMI dispaly
When I had a beagleboard and a touch shield the stock image didn't work because it didn't understand the shield was preferred out. I'm guessing something similar is going on. Look at your image/boot configuration would be my guess(to get serial working not to pass it to hdmi).
