Just to make sure I understand that correctly. The ssh command runs inside a vagrant box, then you want to connect through that tunnel from inside the vagrant box, correct? In this case what you need is a forward tunnel and not a reverse tunnel.

But you're using -R to create a reverse tunnel, shouldn't that be -L to create a forward tunnel?
