/etc/shadow and /etc/passwd format compatibility second?... I guess second would be: since not all of them implement those files you can only say that those that do implement them follow the same format. BTW, Mac OS also has a /etc/passwd file but no /etc/shadow. |

Do I need pata_atiixp or ata_generic kernel modules on a SATA only system? Interesting, ata_generic is not being used by anything apparently. It does use libata, as does ahci, so it seems to be safe to not load both pata_atiixp and ata_generic in my case. |
