@sr_: I looked for any sort of xorg.conf. There's stuff in /etc/X11, but not xorg.conf, and doing a find . -name \*org.conf from the root directory didn't get anything.

@gabe: I've read that the BSDs tend not to support as much varied hardware as Linux, which may make it impractical with existing computers.

You might consider changing hosting companies anyway. A hosting company that will arbitrarily switch to an older OS version that will be out of support in a year and a half doesn't sound reliable to me.
