Are there no partions listed after the line with sdb? Try mkdir -p /media/sdb and then miunt -t auto /dev/sdb /media/sdb. Does that work?

All your examples are totally useless. Can't you just show what you're trying to reach?

comment How do I become an expert of C language on Linux?
I'd recommend reading The C programming Language by Kernighan/Ritchie as first step. You should find that online in the web too, I guess.

comment Everything is a file?

comment How to detect whether a window is in focus?
If you're unsure about the results of if and pipe, run the subcommands alone first, then chain them. That is xdotool .... Then xdotool ... | grep ... ; echo $?. Then if ... then. You also can run the script with sh -x script.

Another option would be to run each ssh in its own screen or tmux, especially if you expect some output from the command.

comment Problems with connecting to wifi
Without more informations (what's in the logs?) you have the same options like a windows user: reboot and hope that it cures the problem or reinstall Debian and hope it cures the problem.

comment Best way to grep big binary file?
Have you tried grep --mmap ... already? Real programmers would do that with vim -R -b 400gbfile and then /pattern.
