I don't know why isn't available in package (maybe EULA?) but you can easily install from ports (portsnap fetch extract - if you don't have ports tree): cd /usr/ports/net-p2p/btsync && make install clean.

After service ipfw stop the downloading still slow (fetch -p ...). On my laptop I don't have firewall. (I asked this question on FreeBSD's forum too - if you're member maybe can continue on the forum)

I'm using fail2ban on VPS with ipfw (firewall_enable is yes and firewall_type is open in rc.conf). I tried download with fetch - as you wrote.

Uhm. I'm very beginner in networking. How should call tcpdump in my case? I run 'fetch ftp://...' command and run tcpdump port ftp and see its output?
