Display Issues in KDE on laptop at startup (it happens when I plug and unplug the AC adapter) When it happens the screen goes black (not completely black as it were off) but I can see the mouse pointer. Also if I move the mouse around I can see it changing to the select text pointer when it moves over the place where the login form is supposed to be. Also I can log in perfectly although I cant see what is happening I hear the login sound. |

What directory should I use for the user apache? Yes, I know. This is a test, I am learning how to make distribution packages. |

Where should I keep the source files of the compiled applications? The actual environmental variable for header files is: CPATH |

Linux without any distribution The dilemma is what Linux is, if Linux is the kernel then my definition of purity is correct. If Linux is the generic name for the OS, then you are right and there is no pure Linux. |

Where should I keep the source files of the compiled applications? @Bakuriu: Thanks, I have to read more about gcc. In the first instance it worked when I included those dirs in the PATH. From now I will follow your advice and include them in the LIBRARY_PATH. |

Where should I keep the source files of the compiled applications? Thanks, I knew about the folders /usr/src and /usr/local/src but I didnt know about the include folders. It seems that the system does not have those folders in the PATH thus I thought the .h files where no installed. |
