hwclock prints Sun 23 Jun 2013 06:42:41 AM EEST -0.812942 seconds which is ahead by 3 hours. I'll update my question with output of timedatectl.

RTC in local TZ: yes after that command; was no before. I recall doing this and rebooting a couple of times today.

comment How to test whether Linux is running on a ThinkPad?
As far as I can understand, you want to make sure you are on Linux using a shell script. I guess uname -o # --operating-system may help. I'm on Ubuntu 13.4 latest, and it reports GNU/Linux.

@MichaelKjörling TianoCore is Intel's open source implementation of UEFI. UEFI Website itself claims that It is a community effort: UEFI is a community effort by many companies in the personal-computer industry to modernize the booting process.

According to this article Microsoft requires vendors to prevent SecureBoot from beeing deactivated in ARM-based devices to provide license for use of Windows-8 Compatible logo.

@rahmu Thanks! This is uefi thing is something that even if you read thousands of lines, you struggle to come up with a concrete answer. I wish there are some uefi hackers hanging aroud unix.se :)
