comment What does *~ mean?
This question should be closed and one of it's duplicate's reopened instead: unix.stackexchange.com/questions/76189/… Since the duplicate is more canonical (see meta.unix.stackexchange.com/questions/2840/…).

comment What does the tilde (~) mean at the end of a filename?
This is a more canonical (clear, concise, and less localized) Q&A than the duplicate therefore should be reopened to replace it. See: meta.unix.stackexchange.com/questions/2840/…

comment How I Determine The latest OpenSSL patch is installed?
@Ramesh : I think you'd have to get that past the S.E. staff. Personally I disagree (you should be allowed to up/down vote anonymously, although it some cases you're right: it is not constructive without a comment). I think the only mandatory comment should be for the first close vote.

comment How I Determine The latest OpenSSL patch is installed?
@Ramesh Good observation. Perhaps the downvotes are from people who've presumed ssh is never dynamically linked to libssl?

That seems to be the case on debian, yeah, maybe as a (dubious and in this case ill conceived) security measure. It's dynamically linked on fedora. +1

ssh should link to libssl and not need to be rebuilt. You can check this with ldd /usr/bin/ssh, presuming that's where it is.

comment Why does a grep reboot the machine?
@Tobias : Why not? It is pretty weird and worth investigating. Contra Spack, I think you should be able to grep -r the entire filesystem safely.

comment Why does a grep reboot the machine?
@Spack I can't imagine there's a proc file that reboots on read.

I believe emacs uses this extension as well, for the same purpose.

comment Systemd: cause a script to execute *after* networking has started?
@PavelŠimerda : Nobody here claimed they did. Ordering is why I explicitly mentioned After in conjunction with Requires "to ensure not only that the networking service be run, but that it run before this unit".
