comment No command 'bla' found, did you mean:?
@vondirac : Yes sources.list is inside the /etc/apt. See the edit.. Well, in general you can say your package manager maintains this list for you and you package manager can be apt(in case of Debian, Ubuntu etc), rpm(Redhat and its clones),yum(eg. Fedora,CentOS) and dnf(New Fedora releases)

@peterph: by double checking the configuration, is the implied idea related to the layered security in linux? if so, could you expand it a bit more?

comment “lftp” login still possible for “/etc/pam.d/vsftpd” blocked users
@dsmask80 : Thank You. Me too got pam_listfile(vsftpd:auth): Refused user root for service vsftpd in the log. Looks like lftp caches the username and password, and gives a formal sub-prompt, which made me misjudge that an actual connection is established. It tries to make the actual connection only when you enter a valid command. I checked the time when I enter the command and it matches the refusal time in the log.

comment TCP wrapper “except” option
Thank you. If simply does not apply is what happens to stuff after the except directive, then perhaps I was assuming an implicit "default deny". Also the following clause from man 5 hosts_access re-iterates your answer. EXCEPT Intended use is of the form: ‘list_1 EXCEPT list_2´; this construct matches anything that matches list_1 unless it matches list_2.

comment Viewer Connection to hypervisor host got refused
@slm : I also encountered a Selinux Policy Violation SELinux is preventing /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm from write access on the file /var/lib/libvirt/images/server1.example.com.img. Source Context unconfined_u:system_r:svirt_t:s0:c241,c526 Target Context unconfined_u:object_r:virt_image_t:s0:c241,c526 Then had a look at the libvirt documentation and changed the context of the storage media from virt_image_t to svirt_image_t. Didn't add a custom policy though..
