Is it like asking Can a ship sink if it's safely anchored(tethered) at the harbour(port)?. Yes over a period of time if it was built poorly with poor materials or poor design.

+1 @Serge files can't be duplicates by mere file names, size & checksums(MD5/SHA1, etc) must be verified.

comment Installing Lispworks on rhel 6.5 Workstation. Error when loading application
it's as simple as PATH env variable; export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib64/:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" prepending new to existing string. Apparently it's another binary(ELF) which depends on libgthread not lispworks-personal itself.

comment Installing Lispworks on rhel 6.5 Workstation. Error when loading application
ldd /usr/bin/lispworks-personal-6-1-1-x86-linux to see all lib dependencies are resolved; add /usr/lib64/ to LD_LIBRARY_PATH if libgthread was not mapped.

run openssl s_client -starttls smtp -crlf -connect myserver.com:587 instead. It is supposed to handle TLS handshake internally. s_client - SSL/TLS client program

comment Always getting “not a symbolic link” message, while installing any package
Apparently RPM is supposed to create a sym-link instead it finds a regular file. It doesn't know what to do, hence it throws message.

comment Can the string “abcedf” be matched to string “bafcde” in a single line command?
This is awfully inefficient! Why do you need to generate an index file like that? Why not BST, AVL & other options?

comment Make file in linux readonly
Like it's pointed out by Sami-Laine, you can't. However, if you're the admin & the person to know the root password you can. And not to mention recovering root password when you've access to hardware.
