What value do you have for a layout.css.dpi option in about:config?

comment Preview of workspace OSD when switching as in gnome-unity (for KDE)
On edit: it is not possible, closest thing you can get is the Desktop Grid effect. You can open a feature request at the bugs.kde.org though.

it turned out that the KDE sets these Xft.* settings on startup according to its preferences. My settings in .Xresources and .Xdefaults were completely ignored or overwritten by it.

There is a rather long list of settings in the output. I think most of them are default opensuse ones. My settings mixed in there, but one option, for which I care most, differs from my config. Is it possible to know where it came from?

How can I check that (are some resources loaded)? It is indeed works with ~/.Xdefaults-$HOSTNAME, nice workaround.

comment font weight in emacs doesn’t work
@tijagi, no, they are just index files for X. Here's a doc page about them. Font hints are built into the font.

comment Disable breadcrumb navigation in KDE
Every toolkit has its own file dialog implementation, kde has one, qt, gtk, tk and others have their own. If you stick to kde applications your experience should be consistent. And no, there is no easy way to force it system-wide.
