The kernel update is actually a minor update, according to your definition.

Sure. But how does this answer the question? The OP has the correct package name already.

comment Why are the UIDs in Solaris so very high? Is it alright to use lower numbers?
I'm surprised by this 'default'. The documentation actually seems to suggest avoiding UIDs above 60,000, due to incompatibility issues. It also says that 100 -- 60,000 is available for regular user accounts. See char.tuiasi.ro/doace/solaris/solaris-sysadmin-guide/ch07/….

comment Assigning IP address to environment variable
+1, although note that my manpage says: -i: Display the network address(es) of the host name. Note that this works only if the host name can be resolved. Avoid using this option; use hostname --all-ip-addresses instead.

comment How can I call bc from within awk in this case?
@ixtmixilix - I don't think the intent of that site is to write the whole program within the 5 minute time limit. Rather, the time limit ensures you consider your solution before downloading the test data, and prevents many brute force attempts. This is covered in the Rosalind FAQ.

comment How do I force a user to log out?
You can force it with -f. But you should probably find out why and how they are logged in first, or you may leave your system in an inconsistent state.
