@AlexanderGarden unfortunately my solution was to put the external drives on a UPS to avoid the problem.

comment Installing from source. How to resolve dependencies without destroying the package manager
apt-get build-dep <package> worked for me. It was frustrating running ./configure over and over again to learn one more required package!

comment How can I view packages from a specific repository?
Be sure to perform an apt-get update prior to searching /var/lib/apt/lists. This directory on a brand new Nextthing CHIP was empty prior to performing the update. I also couldn't install any packages until I performed the update.

comment How to permanently connect to WPA2AES wifi with OpenBSD (through cli)
Here's an example from Wikipedia that shows an interface that has associated with the access point ieee80211: nwid ARK chan 11 bssid 00:0d:0b:ed:84:fb 100dBm, does yours show that? It would be very helpful if you could post what ifconfig returns for you.

I'm surprised that ifconfig ath0 nwid SSID wpakey SSIDPWD didn't work. After you run this command, if you just enter ifconfig what is displayed? Do you get an IP address or any 802.11 information? Can you safely post what is displayed for that command here?

comment How to use linux tools to verify a site's authenticity
Can you post an example? Normally a web site has only one certificate. That being said, there could be a chain of one or more certificates from that server's certificate up to a trusted root SSL certificate. If your browser doesn't trust the root certificate, then you will get a warning.
