Run the make see what files are generated in the local directory. Then run the make install and see what it lists. If it's still not clear, the Makefile will include all the information and it should be fairly simple for a network driver

Any number of digits added. If you have a python script that is reading the device then it would probably be easier to do the filtering in the python.

That code works when using cat and your sample data. I've modified the example to disable buffering in case you are getting caught out by that. Also included the input from your tty in the command. Try that?

That's a bit hard without knowing the mechanism. How do you get the rf data to the terminal in the first place? Are you accessing something in /dev?

Well, I said I'm not sure if the default was modifiable or not. I was trying to think of reasons his arch system would be different to a debian system. Did you mean to write "it doesn't mean" in your last sentence?
