comment Gnome freezes when waking up after a long blank screen
If you're running systemd you may check the output of journalctl -b (log of the last boot). Add a -p 3 option to only show error messages.

comment Unable to use tar to run an archive through bzip2 compression
@tink: the z option is for compressing with gzip; you probably wanted to say j for the bzip2 compression

comment Can not play Audio CD in Arch Linux
@macnguyen: I don't know why mpv works and vlc doesn't, but I have a suggestion for you: why don't you try to rip the CD to the hard disk with a tool such as cdparanoia? Rip once and then forget about it. Also libdvdread, libdvdcss and libdvdnav are tools for watching/ripping video DVDs, not audio CDs.

You may try with another program. For example mpv cdda://

comment How to open rar file in linux?
@vonbrand: I perfectly know unrar is proprietary software. I'm not suggesting anyone to use it. I'm suggesting the OP to use unar (please notice the missing letter "r"), which is free software and is even included in Parabola GNU/Linux-libre, a 100% free GNU/Linux distribution, even stricter than Fedora.

comment How to open rar file in linux?
@vonbrand: availability depends on the specific GNU/Linux distribution. For example unar is available for Parabola GNU/Linux-libre. Anyway I didn't mention "unrar", and unar != unrar

comment tune2fs - how much space to reserve on large ext4 filesystem
I always set the amount of reserved disk space to 0% for big partitions with media files only. I never had any problem so far.
