Looks like the answer is !$ but I usually hit up-arrow,home and delete the previous command and type the new one.

@CraigSanders I'll have to look up the reverse DNS thing. I have a static IP from RoadRunner Business Class (Brighthouse) reverse DNS for my IP says "rrcs-71-40-149-6.se.biz.rr.com" I tried changing the DocumentRoot of my default from /var/www to DocumentRoot /home/selah/public_html and I got a permission error saying I could not access "/"

I'm still working on it. Now I get # /etc/init.d/apache2 reload [linebreak]* Reloading web server config apache2[linebreak] apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 69.16.143.110 for ServerName[linebreak][Wed Sep 05 06:38:22 2012] [warn] NameVirtualHost *:80 has no VirtualHosts

I'm such a newb at some of this that some of what you call "cargo-culting" is the only way to move forward. I'll get the knowledge along the way. I was thinking that the hosts file might be local only. Windows uses the same name for their version. I'll put it back to default. The error I had with NameVirtualHost was "mixing * ports and non-* ports with a NameVirtualHost address is not supported" I'll also take a look at the links you gave. Thanks.

Well, I realized I was using the .com TLD but I actually have that set up at my registrar to redirect to the .org version. I went back and edited my /etc/apache2/sites-available/selah file, disabled it, restarted apache, enabled it, restarted apache again, and it still does not work. I just considered the possibility that an install of webmin might be conflicting. I'll uninstall and test again.
