Mouse cursor became a big X Your DE is probably unable to read the GTK Icon set for some reason and hence is falling back to the default X icon. |

Detect if HDMI Monitor is switched off The output I get is a tad different. I however modified the script to work with it. Thanks a lot! I do have another issue though, using ddccontrol will require polling it every x seconds to get the status. I was hoping that wouldn't be required. |

Why do unix-heads say “minus”? I tend to pronounce it as hyphen. When explaining, I go, Arr Emm Hyphen Arr Eff. I think it majorly depends on the region you're from. |

How do I correct a directory incorrectly copied into itself? @ChrisDown: That's true. But usually, if you are aware of the existing files on a machine you administer, directly parsing shouldn't be an issue. I have been parsing the output of ls on my system for a long time now, without any problems. But then I know for a fact that none of my files contain any harmful characters. In case of a new or unknown system, yes, NEVER parse the output of ls. |
