I am not sure exactly you are trying to make given the lack of details on that but I have a small recommendation if it happens to apply. I can tell that this has to do with some kind of programming and using different languages and it may be useful to add the option to manually key the dir to avoid leaving the menu.

comment Basic Linux OS with GNU apps and TWM
In the long run if he has more than one to install it on but a spin off of gentoo like saybyon would. check that distro out, TWM would be a short emerge away and everything else would be there.

That is far from true. Yes it is easy to compile a program on any given linux but that is because of gcc. For clarification on what I mean see my responses.

comment How do you access internet in RHEL 5 using Android smartphone USB LAN?
you need the driver for it then. It maybe included in your kernel just not compiled in. I can't remember if you can get the source to rhel or not but if you can, try compiling your own as this would allow you the opportunity to compile the driver into the kernel. If you are not sure on how to compile take a look at the gentoo installation manual it will help as you have to compile your own kernel in gentoo.

it might show up if you have it plugged in at boot time. Then you could use it but it might show up as a gateway so I am not sure. Will see what I can find and will post an answer for any info I find

comment Which graphics board my OS is using?
If the only port is on the motherboard than both should be in use. I have heard of a gpu or 2 that only provides a gpu and ram for hpc but most have there own monitor ports. If your motherboard has it's own graphics chip than it should also have it's own monitor ports. Unless you have a vga monitor and only a DVI port on the motherboard or graphics card only. In this case you might be able to find a dvi to vga adapter if your graphics card supports it. Check here... newegg.com/Product/…

comment Difference between cp -r and cp -a
some people are looking for a better explanation to the man pages because it is not always clear what the description meant. I have had to dig many times and test/experiment to figure out what is really going on with a particular command. grep's man page can confuse me any day.
