@StéphaneChazelas, I went by the suggestion on the right side which says: We prefer questions that can be answered, not just discussed. and I am specifically asking if this is quantifiable so, i.e. no. of lines of code. Of course, I don't mind moving the question to another SE site if there is a more suitable one.

thanks Ray. The SSD is separate. My HDD also stopped working. Not sure if this is a coincidence. I will try and replace it and reinstall. Thanks

As far as I can see the link you provide is about a different Ubuntu on Android version. Ubuntu for Linux is a special distribution for android that is not run using virtualisation but uses the same kernel.
