I still don't understand what happens when a GNU Screen is initialized? If anyone can explain that, it would be greatly appreciated.

It turns out I had an issue with my dotfiles, in my .bash_promp I removed the following and all is well: if [[ $COLORTERM = gnome-* && $TERM = xterm ]] && infocmp gnome-256color >/dev/null 2>&1; then export TERM=gnome-256color elif infocmp xterm-256color >/dev/null 2>&1; then export TERM=xterm-256color fi. Still different but it doesn't just make everything red.

Yes, the LS_COLORS are set different and vim syntax highlighting changes as well. Here are my dotfiles.

Nice! I had always thought since <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+(<kbd>a</kbd> <kbd>a</kbd>) switched screens that <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>a</kbd> <kbd>a</kbd> would do the same but the release of the <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> key after the initial <kbd>a</kbd> makes it perform the default action <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>a</kbd> when not in a screen. Thank you!

Ok this is great! and exactly what I was looking for, however I cannot get the library to function in Mac OSX... I am using 10.7.2 and I do exactly as the readme specifies for mac osx but upon running a command such as LD_PRELOAD=/Users/rudolph9/Developer/libfaketime/src/libfaketime.dylib.1 FAKETIME="@2012-01-01 20:20:00" date Mon Jan 30 08:21:17 CST 2012 I do not get the desired date
