I am on Debian 3.2.46-1 running VMWare with a Windows 7 Pro guest.

I'm trying to set up a bridged network through eth0 interface, and give the windows virtual machine a static, external IPv6 address.

I set sysctl net.ipv6.conf.all.forwarding = 1 on my debian box, selected the "bridged network through eth0" setting in my VM settings, and typed in my IP address and gateway manually into 'local area connection' IPv6 properties in the windows virtual machine, but I'm getting 'destination host unreachable' when I try to ping -6 or tracert -6 my DNS or host.

Other than that ping6 and traceroute6 work fine on the Linux host.

Just to clarify - I set the gateway in the Windows VM to be the same gateway on my Debian box, and gave the virtual machine a legal external IPv6 address within the range I purchased from my hosting company.

What could be wrong with my setup?
