I have logwatch working fine but I don't see the fail2ban and mod_secure logs appearing in my logwatch logs. How do I enable this? What do I need to do to logwatch's configuration file?

Below is the logwatch.conf file.

You have all your services running so either, they don't produce logs or they are in non-default paths. Manually check both, if they don't produce any log of importance then logwatch is gonna to ignore them. Run sudo logwatch --debug High | grep -T100 'LogFiles that will be processed:' at the start of the output it will list all the services that will go through. –  Braiam Jul 23 '13 at 8:22
    
@Braiam I notice my fail2ban was running maybe after a restart can I set it to run on restart using chkconfig fail2ban on ? How to check if mod_secure is running via the top I cant do that right? I addition I have put up the results of this command too sudo logwatch --debug High | grep -T100 'LogFiles that will be processed:' –  biz14 Jul 23 '13 at 13:34
    
When fail2ban produce logs of importance logwatch will take them, as you can see it says is active "LogFiles that will be processed: [...] [14] = fail2ban". fail2ban normally is set by default to start with the boot up. And no, mod_secure is a kernel module, so it starts with the kernel, no further configuration is needed. You may need to generate some logs, try triggering fail2ban and see those logs grow! –  Braiam Jul 23 '13 at 20:49
