I have a problem with my ethernet connection on my mint 15 (my WiFi works fine).

Right after install, it didn't work at all, I followed some solutions I found (including this one) and no luck. I had some progress, while at first it didn't even respond and no drivers were installed now it recognizes the alx driver and the green LED is on when I plug the cable in.

The problem is that the OS still reports "cable unplugged".

As I mentioned I have already installed the alx driver and even upgraded my kernel to 3.9
