I have updated my Linux Mint kernel from 3.2.0-23-generic to 3.8.0-23-generic, because the old kernel version freezes quite often. Now, I have a problem that my wireless network is not detected.

Here is some of the information for the command iwconfig:

iwconfig
Output:
lo        no wireless extensions.

eth0      no wireless extensions.

I tried to add through additional drivers enter image description here but facing error, here is the error message enter image description hereH

I have checked the jockey.log and here is the last few lines of the log

I've found 3 or 4 people here with the same question. Maybe we should all get together and figure it out. I suspect that Mint, in order to make things easier for the user, has screwed things up to the point where, in certain systems, wifi just won't work. –  bev Aug 8 '13 at 22:53
