I have the recently released Dell XPS 13 (L322x) and have successfully installed Linux Mint 14 alongside the pre-installed Windows 8. When connecting and external monitor using a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter in Windows 8 the sound is passed just fine to the monitor. In Linux however the only available sound output device are the speakers (and 3,5 mm jack.)
I am using Dell's Sputnik PPA with updated kernel.
Is there a way of enabling sound output over DisplayPort, or am I just doing things wrong?
