I'm installing Arch with OpenBox and tint2, but I have a problem to show tint2 with my non root user, instead tint2 is shown on root account. I followed this wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Tint2

I type

startx

Than from OpenBox, that don't show tint2, I start xterm and there I type

tint2

But I have as result

real trasparency off.... depth: 24
xRandr: Found crtc's: 2
xRandr: Linking output DVI-I-1 with crtc 0
xRandr: Linking output HDMI_1 with crtc 1
usage: tint2 [-c] <config_file>
[alessiomtx@MtxLab ˆ]$

instead if I type

tint2 &

I have as result, the same without

[alessiomtx@MtxLab ˆ]$

but when I press enter

[1]+ Exit 1 tint2

Any solution?

EDIT: My ˆ/.xinitrc file

tint2 &
exec openbox-session

The last line from the output looks like tint has trouble with the config file. Do you have one? What is in it, what are the permissions on it? –  Wieland Mar 18 '13 at 10:10

ˆ/.xinitrc ??? Now I post that –  AlessioMTX Mar 18 '13 at 15:57

Not the xinitrc, the tint2 config file (usually ~/.config/tint2/tint2rc) –  Wieland Mar 19 '13 at 9:29

The file is blank –  AlessioMTX Mar 19 '13 at 16:42

The behaviour you describe is what tint2 does when it can't read the config file, what are its permissions? (Letting tint2 start with a readable, but empty config file makes it segfault, at least on my computer) –  Wieland Mar 19 '13 at 22:30
