Unix & Linux Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of Linux, FreeBSD and other Un*x-like operating systems.. It's 100% free, no registration required.

As you know many hosting providers provide many types of systems for their servers. I'm in a shared hosting and I know how to use the cPanel but now I want to move maybe to VPS or dedicated server and I don't have any idea about how to manage the server. Is it difficult? Will I have a cPanel? is it same as the one in shared hosting?

It would be helpful if you know any online tutorials about this?

Update: I will put on the server a dynamic site (forums, blogs, etc) so there will be databases. But I have heared that the server needs to be managed and I'm not sure is that easy like the shared hosting cPanel or more difficult?

Depends on what you want to do with it. Be more specific about what you expect from your VPS installation. I guess it's about web hosting here, but that's very vague still, i.e. do you need an SQL database, mail server, etc. with it? I suggest to start with Linux in general at home, in a virtual machine. Once you feel comfortable, you can buy a VPS. – gertvdijk Dec 23 '12 at 23:33
