I have a Gnome session running on my server. I started it with tightvncserver. Now it wont let me in anymore because of

Too many authentication failures - client rejected

This seems to be a known issue

I don't want to kill the vncserver, as it probably will kill the current Gnome session. I have some rendering software running and don't want to lose the calculations.

Any ideas how to get hold of the Gnome session again?
