I get the option to Shut down computer when finished during encoding stage of Avidemux. Why would I want to do that?

I think my generalized thought was that, this really is not a problem. But it's not offtopic either... which is why it wasn't closed. In all fairness this was me as a person, not as a moderator, saying I don't like this question and I don't think it's a good one. – xenoterracide♦ Jan 20 '11 at 9:56

Maybe because you're encoding is going to take hours after you leave and you don't really want to keep the computer running when you're not using it to save power.
