After a standard installation, most linux / bsd dists comes with fairly restrictive default values​​, which of these values ​​should be one mod for a high performance server with several thousand connections per second?

i would like to be more clear but this is from a file from my class. Is a general question, i tried to figure out myself. Can you tell me some default values from freebsd, i mean the most important – willockss Nov 4 '12 at 23:54
Thanks for the honesty. Now you mention 'these values' but don't identify which values. There has to be some in mind. You want to know the most important default values for a fairly complex system. I would check the freebsd handbook and the material given in class for your answers. I would also suggest that you feel free to ask specific questions about certain things. – vgoff Nov 5 '12 at 0:08

The tuning process is very much relied on hardware specifications, no distribution should ship with a default optimized profile.

i.e if you disabled security.bsd.see_other_uids by default, it could cause confusion
