I just installed Elementary OS, even if it's still buggy and not even in beta version I am very satisfied of the look, but I would like to have some option to customize the effects and settings like I could do with Compiz but I couldn't find any settings panel related to Mutter!

Is there any GUI utility I should install ?

Albeit this is asked wrt. Ubuntu, I think the answer still applies here. Try gconf-editor or another WM. – sr_ Aug 9 '12 at 11:35

You can change some of the effects and customize by using

    dconf-editor

if you have a look in org/pantheon/ and go through available options.
