Unix & Linux Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of Linux, FreeBSD and other Un*x-like operating systems.. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm looking for articles, reports, scientific literature etc. written on activity level of different open source projects. What I mean by activity level is how frequently a project is maintained and up to what level of detail, size of developer and user community associated with it and other relevant metrics. ERP, Point of sales, CMS being of special interest to me for the time being. It will be a big help if someone can point me to something written on this topic. Or tell me where to look for this kind of information, that would also be appreciated. Thanks.
