im using CentOs 5.1 installed in virtual box.. the main os installed on the laptop is Windows XP. I have configured the ftp server using vsftpd on centOs and accessing it from the command prompt on Windows XP. Suppose there are 3 system users, u1, u2 and u3. How to allow u1 to upload/download files to its home directory but not allow u2 and u3 to upload/download to its respective home directories when logged into the ftp server?

What OS are you using? What FTP server are you using? Don't expect accurate answers if you don't provide the required information. – Mat May 6 '12 at 18:41
blind mat, security.appspot.com/vsftpd/vsftpd_conf.html CentOS comes with vsftp. Guy mb doesn't know about choice between ftps and have no experience in this field. – Xsi Nov 23 '12 at 16:36
