Unix & Linux Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of Linux, FreeBSD and other Un*x-like operating systems.. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Is anyone here(preferably with lots of unix experience) willing to take a shot at restoring the mysql databases after a Debian system reinstall?

I am willing to pay for this service as I've tried multiple ways but my (limited) unix experience is lacking and I'm not sure I've did it correctly/tried all possibilities.

For anyone interested, please indicate also how we can proceed with payment(through which site, etc) and how much would you take for this.

Please note that I don't have physical access to the server, and the files to be restored are in /var/lib/mysql, so the primary partition has to be used for restoring. I can't create CDs to boot from because of no physical access to the server. So if possible, everything needs to be done via a console.

Thank you!

While the question is genuine, the "paid help" part sounds like a no-no (judging from what I read on Meta Stack Overflow). I started a discussion on Meta about the validity of offering payments for answers: meta.unix.stackexchange.com/questions/944/… – Renan May 2 '12 at 22:08

This is a question and answer site, not a matchmaking service for consultants and job needs. If you can ask a question about problems you're running into, that's fine — we're happy to help you out in that way. – mattdm May 2 '12 at 22:10
