When I execute gnome-open textfile I expect gvim to open up. Instead what happens is that a command /bin/bash -ic (uname) > /tmp/{some random string of characters} uses 100% of the CPU. When I kill the process (and I have to use -9), then cpu usage goes back to normal and gvim opens.
Running gvim -f textfile without gnome-open works perfectly.
Any ideas where this process is coming from?
