I am completely new to linux, and I'm trying to get in the world of command lines as it fancies my curiosity.
Anyhows, I've got a NAS and Optware installed. I was able to install irssi script (via root) though I'd wanted to use it/log in/connect on servers using non-root user. I couldn't figure how to access/run the script when I'm not logged in as root.
whoamishows something that is notroot)? If so, executewhereis irssifrom root (it will show the path to the binary) and call Irssi by this absolute path. Your non-root user should have a writeable home directory. – Mischa Arefiev Apr 9 '12 at 11:31myusernameorroot. I installedsudoandirssivia Optware as a root, but can't run both when I log in asmyusername. – justbyanne Apr 11 '12 at 11:35which irssi? – uther Apr 23 '12 at 18:56
