I've been trying to install Handbrake on centos 5.8 with the help of some different guides. I'm running x86_64, and whenever I try to install packages necessary to build the binary, the arch ends up i386:

Total size: 19 M
Is this ok [y/N]: y
Downloading Packages:
Running rpm_check_debug
Running Transaction Test
Finished Transaction Test

Transaction Check Error:
file /usr/bin/libtool from install of libtool-1.5.22-7.el5_4.i386 conflicts with file from package libtool-1.5.22-7.el5_4.x86_64

Error Summary

I've already downloaded HandBrake-0.9.6.tar.bz2 and untared it. The whole log is available here

What requires the i386 version of libtool? I'd recommend doing a force install of the x86_64 binary if that won't crash your system. I'm not using centos so I'm not sure of the dependencies. If your running on a VM, I'd highly recommend creating a snapshot first. – sbtkd85 Apr 13 '12 at 14:10
