I am using Ubuntu. Yesterday I was installing the Adobe Flash plugin on my laptop, but the installation was interrupted and the plugin was not installed completely. But the software shows in the installed software menu. Today I am tried to install another program and it failed, telling me my last download was incomplete I need to fix it first. But I can't remove Adobe Flash from the laptop, and I can't download any more. How can I fix this?

did you install flash through Ubuntu Software Center (or synaptic) or did you install from the command line (not using apt)? – Arcege Mar 22 '12 at 19:41
Are you using Synaptic to install the software? Try Edit->Fix Broken Packages. – Kevin Mar 22 '12 at 19:43
-1 One of Ubuntu's main 'selling points' is supposed to be that Adobe Flash comes pre-loaded. It would be best if you specified exactly which version of flash, i.e. GNU gnash, Adobe Flash you are dealing with. Otherwise in my opinion this question demonstrates a very low level of research and is unlikely to be useful to anyone browsing the website. – ixtmixilix Mar 22 '12 at 20:37

I agree, it should be closed in favor of the askubuntu question, which is more focused. – Arcege Mar 22 '12 at 21:29

Try opening a Terminal and issue the following command one-by-one.

sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get --fix-missing install
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get update

Tip: You do not need to type commands into the Terminal. Highlight the command written on the web page. Move your cursor anywhere in the Terminal and press your mouse wheel or mouse middle button. Automatic Copy and paste! No spelling mistakes! No Typos! No other errors!
