I've launched an AWS instance with the image debian-6.0-squeeze-i386-server-20110323 (ami-aa46b4c3) and I am trying to set up a FTP server. I have tried several ftp servers but nothing seems to work. I was thinking something was blocking the input traffic directly in the AWS Management Console.

I configured a simple ftp server with pure-ftp, it is running but unreachable.

# ps aux | grep ftp
root 5746 0.0 0.0 5740 532 ? Ss 14:54 0:00 pure-ftpd (SERVER)

I would appreciate any help.

Have made sure the Security Group your instance is in has the ports you are using open? – SleighBoy Feb 10 '12 at 7:23
