Unix & Linux Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of Linux, FreeBSD and other Un*x-like operating systems.. It's 100% free, no registration required.

What is the most brutal man page that ever exists? Some man pages are hard to read / understand since they aren't well written / complete in term of details but some exist although they are well-established, they are also hard to read. My vote goes for bash.

hi, I thought here would be the most suitable place under stackexchange but since stackexchange, itself isn't for discussion at least not for this type of questions, you are definitely right so I took it to HN. Btw, I will be more careful in the next time by this down vote. – ferhat elmas Feb 5 '12 at 14:42

man pages were never intended to be easy to read. They are intended to be terse reference pages - not tutorials. – fpmurphy Feb 5 '12 at 16:38
What does "HN" stand for? – Keith Thompson Feb 6 '12 at 0:41
@KeithThompson HN. – ferhat elmas Feb 6 '12 at 17:54
