I was just curious if I should install PPC Debian or do a stage 1 install with Gentoo. Mainly I am curious if GS1 will make a big difference on this hardware (1.2GHz, 1GB RAM). I don't recall it making a huge difference on P2 Intel hardware, but then again I didn't run benchmarks. Perhaps I should just run Debian?

I've just decided to go ahead with a Debian install and use XFCE for the desktop. Don't think I feel like the interaction involved with a Stage 1 these days. – Tim Feb 6 '12 at 1:57
only gentoo devs use stage1 etc.. all ppl use stage 3, so go back we need dare ppl – Xsi Nov 23 '12 at 17:00
