Empathy allows users to combine contacts together and create what is called a "meta-contact". So if you have a contact that uses different protocols, eg. GTalk and MSN, you can combine them together into one contact. Then, when the user starts a chat with the meta-contact, Empathy automatically selects to use the account (contact) that appears to be online most of the time.
It is very easy to set up a meta-contact. One has to simply right click on one of their contacts and click "Link contacts..." and then select from his buddy list the other contact(s) that wants to be linked with that.
I was wondering if there is a way to specifically set which account appears "dominant" in the meta-contact. Note that in the buddy list, this affects the visible name of the meta-contact.
