I am trying to run an application on the command line. After I typed in

env SACAUX=`pwd`/aux ./bin/sac

on the command line, I got a "Segmentationfault" error. This should get me to the command prompt.

What is wrong here? How can I get it to run? I am running Ubuntu 32 bit and this is an application for Linux 32 bit and my application is called sac.

There's a bug in the application. It's impossible to tell what the bug is without being able to run the application, and preferably having its source code. Unless you tell us where to download that program with its source code and someone can reproduce the segfault on their machine, we can't help you. – Gilles Aug 30 '11 at 7:12
Or could it be a memory error in my machine? – GTyler Aug 31 '11 at 1:23
Yes, it could be a memory error, though if it was then usually you'd have other unexplained errors or crashes. Did you run a memory test recently? – Gilles Aug 31 '11 at 7:02
