Unix & Linux Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of Linux, FreeBSD and other Un*x-like operating systems.. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Using FreeBSD 8.2. Setup a vncserver on my FreeBSD machine. Accessing it from Windows using Tightvnc Viewer. Most fonts show up fine. However my Xfce tip of the day window shows up blank. If I log directly into the machine the text is there but over VNC it is not. I assume this is some kind of font issue?

My vnc options are:

vncserver_options="-geometry 800x600 -compatiblekbd -fp '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/'"

What's causing this problem and how can I fix it? I'm wondering if I need to add another font directory?
