I am running a minimal Debian 6 x86_64 setup with pulseaudio, alsa and gnome-settings-daemon. Whenever I press a media key, gnome-settings-daemon spits the following out to stderr:

** (gnome-settings-daemon:4205): CRITICAL **: acme_volume_get_volume: assertion      
  `acme_volume_open(self)' failed

How can I avoid this issue?

@RaphaelRat: Does the key work and throw that error or does it just throw the error and not function an intended? – Caleb Jul 1 '11 at 13:56
